Cycle-aware programming
Programming that knows what week of the cycle you're in. Opt-in, private by default, and never active without your consent.
- Phase-aware programming driven by per-cycle rules
- HealthKit and Health Connect sync, granted by the athlete
- Coach effectiveness analytics with conservative interpretation bands
- GDPR and POPIA-grade consent with an audit trail
- Designed for every body, including suppressed cycles, IUDs, and amenorrhea
Cycle-aware programming is built on a simple promise. Athletes opt in. Coaches choose what to adjust per phase. The platform applies those adjustments and nothing else. Nothing happens without explicit consent.
How it works
Four steps, all reversible. No medical claims, no passive surveillance, and every switch flips back in two taps.
1. Turn on tracking
Two checkboxes: track your cycle, and optionally share your phase with your coach. Both are off by default. Nothing is logged unless you log it manually or grant access to HealthKit or Health Connect. Sharing with your coach is a separate decision from tracking, and you can revoke either at any time.
2. Your coach authors a phase rule, or doesn't
If your coach wants to use cycle-aware programming for you, they apply one of three starter templates or write a rule from scratch. Rules can be scoped to a program, a training cycle, or a single exercise. If they choose not to, the feature stays silent and nothing changes on the athlete's screen.
3. Sessions adapt to the phase
Open today's session and it reflects the rule for the current phase. A small banner explains what was adjusted and why. Tap use original to opt back to the prescribed pre-phase version of any session at any time.
4. Insights both sides can act on
After a few cycles, the coach sees a per-phase before-and-after on completion rate, perceived difficulty, and post-session mood. Interpretation bands are deliberately conservative so small samples never get over-read. If a rule isn't helping, the coach adjusts it. If it is, they keep it.
What's included
Three starter templates ship in the platform so coaches don't start from a blank page.
- Conservative. Minimal intervention. A small volume pull-back in the menstrual phase and a soft RPE cap in the luteal phase.
- Moderate. The typical published-coach approach. Volume and effort dialled back across the menstrual and luteal phases, a modest intensity bump through follicular, and HIIT converted to steady-state in luteal.
- Performance-focused. A rest day in menstrual, an aggressive push through follicular, and a deeper pullback in luteal to recover into the next cycle.
Coaches can clone any template, edit it, and save it as their own. The platform makes no medical claims. Coaches own the playbook.
Designed for every body
Birth control that suppresses the cycle surfaces a "cycle suppressed" chip instead of guessing a phase that doesn't exist. Hormonal IUDs default to unknown until enough data is logged. Amenorrhea and irregular cycles fall back to the same unknown state, with gentle copy and no alarms. The feature stays useful without making assumptions about anyone's physiology.
The privacy bar
Cycle data is health data, and we hold it to that bar.
- Off by default. You opt in, and you can opt out at any time.
- Sharing with your coach is a separate switch from tracking. They never see your data unless you explicitly turn it on.
- Every time your coach views your cycle, an audit row appears on your cycle screen.
- Held to a GDPR and POPIA-grade consent bar. Never tagged onto analytics, never sent to a third party, never sold.
- Soft-delete is reversible for 30 days. Hard-delete is irreversible and takes two taps.
- On suppressing birth control, the platform shows a "cycle suppressed" chip rather than guessing a phase. No false signals.
