An RPE and RIR workout builder that holds the whole prescription
Target rep range, RPE, RIR, tempo, and intensity percentage on every set. Periodization templates that roll themselves forward. Logs that attach to the exact prescription.
Autoregulated programming only works when the targets survive the trip to the athlete. An RPE 8 written in a spreadsheet cell or a chat message arrives as a vibe; by week three the athlete is training to failure on everything and the coach is diagnosing fatigue that the program never prescribed.
The Colossus builder carries the full prescription per set, delivers it in the athlete's app, and attaches every logged set back to it. This page covers how the builder works and what it changes about reviewing training.
Every set carries its own targets
Each set in the builder has its own target rep range, RPE, RIR, tempo, and intensity percentage. Top set at RPE 8, back-offs at RIR 3 with a 3-1-1 tempo: prescribed as two different set rows, not a paragraph of instructions the athlete has to parse mid-session.
Intensity techniques are set types, not notes
Dropsets, rest-pause, clusters, AMRAP, and EMOM are first-class set types you prescribe directly. The athlete's app presents them correctly and the log records them correctly, so an AMRAP result is data you can program from, not a number buried in a comment.
Periodization templates do the rolling forward
Author a linear, DUP, block, or 5-3-1 structure once and the template auto-applies per-cycle modifiers as the plan advances. Plans run on any cycle length from 5 to 9 days, so the split you designed is the split that ships.
The review loop closes itself
Logged sets attach to the exact prescription, so you review performed against prescribed set by set, RPE included. e1RM trends run across every lift, including bodyweight movements via system mass, a seven-type PR ledger surfaces records as they happen, and weekly plateau detection flags stalls early. A plate calculator with microplates sits next to the log for the athlete.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mix RPE and percentage work in one program?
Yes. RPE, RIR, tempo, and intensity percentage are all per-set fields, so a percentage-based main lift and RPE-capped accessories coexist in the same session.
What does the athlete see during a session?
The free athlete app shows the full per-set prescription, including technique type, tempo, and the RPE or RIR target, with a plate calculator at hand. Every logged set attaches to its prescription for your review.
Do templates lock me into a 7-day week?
No. Plans run on any cycle length from 5 to 9 days, so PPL rotations and longer waves are programmed as designed.
